How’s your Playoff Bracket?

Playoff Bracket

Now that Round 2 has officially started, and my Playoff Bracket is completely screwed up. But Let’s still do the prediction.

Eastern Conference:

Boston Bruins vs. Montreal Canadiens:

Without a doubt this is the most exciting series in Round 2. The history between the two teams goes way back to the original 6 NHL teams. Thursday night we saw Game 1 between the two and the fans got what was expected. Scoring, goaltending and big hits from both sides but what we hope to see is both teams big stars coming through, e.g Thomas Vanek and Jerome Iginla. This series will most likely go the distance and a look at my bracket, I’ve said Habs.

Pittsburgh Penguins vs. New York Rangers:

Not my ideal match up, I was really hoping to see another Giroux vs. Crosby matchup . Another series depending a lot on Fleury, because we know that Lundqvist typically never give up a lot of bad goals. Pittsburgh Penguins will take it in 6 games, hopefully.

Western Conference:

Chicago BlackHawks vs. Minnesota Wild:

This could be an interesting series, if Minnesota plays a lot like Round 1 they could be exciting as well. I doubted their ability to run and gun against the Colorado Avalanche and they proved me wrong, especially in Game 7 winning 5-4 in Overtime. However, Chicago is a stronger and experienced team than a young inexperienced Avalanche. Hawks will take this in 6 games.

Anaheim Ducks vs. Los Angeles Kings:

Well, well, well. The Kings became the 4th team in NHL history to come back from trailing 3-0 in a series and to correct myself it’s only Mike Richard who’s been in 2 come back. Jeff Carter was actually out with a broken foot. This is the first time ever that these two Californian teams have met in the Playoffs. Let’s just hope the Kings don’t drop another 3 games and expect to come back from a strong Ducks. Ducks will take it in 7 games.

Round 1 might have been the best playoff in a while. There was long overtime, and a lot of overtime. No lead is safe, many come backs and most importantly 3 Game 7s on one night, what a Round 1. Let’s hope Round 2 is just as wild.
