Team Aster will head to the L.A. Major with an impeccable run in Kyiv for the StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor Season 3.

The Chinese Squad had high hopes along with their grand finalist in Alliance, they beat Nigma to come to the Minor. However, this week was Team Aster’s moment to shine. They almost completed a perfect tournament without dropping a single match. They only game they dropped was against the team Alliance.

The Grand Finals was very close to a sweep for Team Aster, they looked strong throughout every stage of the game. The only blemished they had was Game 3’s loss and it wasn’t even due to mistakes but great team composition from Alliance.

In Game 1, Team Aster had a steady control over the game and as the game progressed it they got better as time was the enemy for Alliance. However, during the mid-game Alliance was patient enough and outwaited the Aegis of Immortal to timeout and jumped on Song “Sccc” Chun’s Morphling to kill him off then the rest of Team Aster. After that fight, Aster was on the back seat for awhile and never made any more mistakes moving forward. Meanwhile, Alliance got too complacent and started getting picked off here and there and sometimes picking fights when they were outnumbered.

Game 1 was a perfect example of a team staying composed under pressure and never going off alone.

Team Aster will be joining the ESL One Los Angeles Major as the sixteenth team. If previous years have been good indications of how well Minor winners have been, expect Team Aster to be a force in L.A.

In other news, Cloud9 has officially announced their official North American line up. Jacky “EternaLEnVy” Mao is rejoining Cloud9 along with newcomer Marcus “Ace” Hoelgaard and ingjun “Sneyking” Wu.

Cloud9’s first tournament will be the Summit 12 on March 10-13, just right before the ESL One Major. It will be more great Dota action.
