Team Nigma completed the improbable reverse sweep against Team Secret, arguably one of the best teams in the world.
It was looking grim being down 2-0 in the best-of-five against the winner bracket finalist, but Nigma wasn’t giving up. They changed their style from game 3 onwards and started running down Team Secret.
Nigma started picking push heroes and grouped up when they hit their timings around 15-minute mark. The biggest turnaround in Game 3 happened in the top lane when Team Secret effectively started to throw bodies at Nigma trying to stop them from running down them.
The last three game was like watching the old Team Liquid running down their opponents, it became a turbo match for them. The last three matches were all sub 30 minutes with Nigma dominating every one of them.
Nigma’s lower bracket run was a true reminiscing of what Amer “Miracle-” Al-Barkawi said during their TI7 run, “Upper bracket is for bitches.”
They made true to their words and made another great run, they had fans cheering for them when they were down 2-0 and it helped them rally from 0-2.
It’s too bad that they found their game too late, they will miss the upcoming LA Major and the Kyiv Minor.
In other news, Jacky “EternaLEnVy” Mao and Jingjun “Sneyking” Wu have left Fighting Pandas and rumours have them going to Cloud9.
Fighting Pandas will seek two new players for the StarLadder ImbaTV Minor.
